. The club was founded in 1989 by Colin McLean. It started in the old Grammar School, it then moved into the charter hall where it stayed for 10 years before moving to it's current location in Castle Road, behind the Post Office, which is accessible to people with limited movement and walking abilities, the whole club is wheelchair friendly. The club has 8 tables in the main hall and 2 in a practice room.

The Practice Room. As a club we have grown in the last few years and we have just received the ETTA (English Table Tennis Association) Premier Club Advanced Award, which we are both pleased and excited about and we are now working towards the Excellence Award as well. We now regularly host ranking tournaments and many other tournaments, which people from all over the country attend. We now have a new UKCC Level 2 head coach, Mike Hugh, joining us at the club and working with people of all levels and abilities, full time. The club has been selected by the 2012 Olympic committee to be a Pre Games Training Camp to host countries from all over the world ready for the 2012 Olympic games.
